I used to put together an online family Christmas letter. These were done just for the fun of it. As I look at these, I can’t help but think back about how much fun I had making them. I remember being almost giddy — as a grown man.
We all need to find projects that make us feel this way.
I poured hours into this li’l site, though you wouldn’t know it now. I
built it to work seamlessley with any combination of Flash,
JavaScript, and CSS
capabilities. We’re talking about progressive enhancement at its
finest. But to achieve that I used a fistful of
PHP, which I no longer
run. So here is the HTML
version.
I spent a couple days of Christmas break creating this. Flash was my
new obsession at the time, and this was the beginning. But sadly, the
Flash no longer works, and I am not going to take the time to update
it. So I have simply put the content of the slides in a simple HTML
page.
